Tsunami Field Hockey Clinic - Skill Series, Tactics & Play
This brand new program is open to all skill levels and bridges the gap between the traditional end to the outdoor school season and the club/school 7v7 indoor league that starts in January. This small sided style of play promotes quick decision making and many more touches on the ball than the traditional 11v11 game.
Groups will be split by age and skill level of the players. The first hour will highlight tactics and skill sets needed for effective small sided games. The second hour will allow players to practice their new skills in actual game play.
The games will be interactively coached, making sure all players have an understanding of the tactics emphasized during the session. For more information contact tsunamicoachct@gmail.com.
Field Hockey Clinic
- The program runs for 5 Sundays, 2 hours each day on fields the same size as the Branford league.
- Coaches include members of the Tsunami Field Hockey Club staff and is directed by Phil Danaher, 8-time National Club Champion coach, USA National team player and member of the CT Field Hockey Hall of Fame.
- No clinic on November 29th
- Required equipment: shin guards, mouth guard and field hockey stick - Goalies should bring their equipment
- Please remember to bring a water bottle and sneakers in case play needs to move indoors.
